چکیده

Detecting manipulated images has become an important problem in many domains (including medical imaging, forensics, journalism and scientific publication) largely due to the recent success of image synthesis techniques and the accessibility of image editing software. Many previous signal-processing techniques are concerned about finding forgery through simple transformation (e.g. resizing, rotating, or scaling), yet little attention is given to examining the semantic content of an image, which is the main issue in recent image forgeries. Here, we present a complete workflow for finding the anomalies within images by combining the methods known in computer graphics and artificial intelligence. We first find perceptually meaningful regions using an image segmentation technique and classify these regions based on image statistics. We then use AI common-sense reasoning techniques to find ambiguities and anomalies within an image as well as perform reasoning across a corpus of images to identify a semantically based candidate list of potential fraudulent images. Our method introduces a novel framework for forensic reasoning, which allows detection of image tampering, even with nearly flawless mathematical techniques. a 2006 DFRWS. Published by Elsevier Ltd. The Rise of Patient Safety-II: Should We Give Up Hope on Safety-I and Extracting Value From Patient Safety Incidents?; Comment on “False Dawns and New Horizons in Patient Safety Research and Practice”

Who could disagree with the seemingly common-sense reasoning that: “We must learn from the things that go wrong.”? Despite major investments to improve patient safety, relatively few evaluations demonstrate convincing reductions in risk, harm, serious error or death. This disappointing trajectory of improvement from learning from errors or Safety-I as it is sometimes known has led some research...

Analysis of Human Commonsense Reasoning Processes in Pattern Recognition

Some examples of natural human common sense reasoning both in scientific pattern recognition problems and in solving logical games are given. An analysis of inference structure shows that inductive and deductive rules communicate in reasoning. An automated model for detecting the types of woodland from incomplete descriptions of some evidences is also given in this paper. The important part of ...

Automated Image Captioning Using Nearest-Neighbors Approach Driven by Top-Object Detections

The significant performance gains in deep learning coupled with the exponential growth of image and video data on the Internet have resulted in the recent emergence of automated image captioning systems. Two broad paradigms have emerged in automated image captioning, i.e., generative model-based approaches and retrieval-based approaches. Although generative model-based approaches that use the r...

and NPRM). More than five years have passed since the Commission sought comment on several important matters relating to the quality and implementation of closed captioning of video programming, and a variety of changes in the closed captioning landscape warrant a refresh of the record created in response to that proceeding. For example, the benchmarks for 100% captioning of nonexempt new Engli...

End-to-End Dense Video Captioning with Masked Transformer

Dense video captioning aims to generate text descriptions for all events in an untrimmed video. This involves both detecting and describing events. Therefore, all previous methods on dense video captioning tackle this problem by building two models, i.e. an event proposal and a captioning model, for these two sub-problems. The models are either trained separately or in alternation. This prevent...
